Shilpi Gupta is a born dreamer. A flair of creativity, a panache of style, a fashionista was born in the family of businessmen. With a degree from University of Central Lancashire, UK, she is an epitome of style and fashion. Ms. Shilpi Gupta belongs to a business family, who had established a non profit making society to impart quality education in North India. Presently the Society has set up 12 leading education institutions in Uttaranchal, Noida and Greater Noida. These institutions deliver programs in IT, Business, Architecture, Journalism, Law and Design.
To give expression to her passion for design, she set up the Design Innovation Academy (DIA) in 2005 to impart quality education in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Jewellery Design, Interior Design and Multimedia and Animation.



Secretary General International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institute Commodore (IFFTI) Vijay Chaturvedi (Retd) has been associated with DIA from its inception and has taken up great efforts and challenges to lead DIA to this summit.



Dr.Piyush Kumar Sinha joined Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad after a 20-year service in academics and industry. Prior to joining this Institute, he was the Dean at Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA). He has also taught at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and XIM, Bhubaneswar.

During his tenure in the corporate world he worked as a Marketing Manager for Gujarat Gas and Rasna.

Anita Kulkarni was born in New Delhi.  Her childhood was spent in learning music & dances from her father the world renowned Kathak exponent Padma Vibushan Guru Pt. Birju Maharaj.  She joined College of Arts, New Delhi in 1984, for her formal education in art.

The same year she was awarded by Sahitya Kala Parishad with the Yuva Mahotsava Award.  She received the ‘Special Mention’ Award at the All India Henry Moore Sculpture Competition in 1988 organized by the British Council. She was awarded the Junior Fellowship from the Dept. of Culture, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India in 1992. She was also awarded by the Academy Of Fine Arts, Punjab in 2010 & 2011. She was also awarded the Senior Fellowship by the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India in 2016.

She had her first exhibition in Mumbai in 1991 & has since held 22 Solo Exhibitions in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad & Chennai. Some of her path breaking exhibitions are: “Scarecrows” in 1992, “Mindscape” in 2006 and “Malang – The Unfettered Wanderer” in 2014.

She has participated in prestigious art exhibitions organised by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, The All India Fine Arts and Craft Society, New Delhi, The Sahitya Kala Parishad, New Delhi, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal and other art institutions.

Anita has now been working in the field of visual art for the past 32 years and has established herself as a painter and a sculptor par excellence. She has diversified into various branches of visual arts without restricting herself to only painting or sculpture. She has dabbled in various mediums like wood, stone, metal, cement concrete and fibre glass for her sculptures and ceramics and glass mosaic tiles for the murals created by her. She has also experimented with digital art.


Vijai Singh Katiyar has 25 years of experience in design education and practice. He has been contributing to Design Education, Research, Consultancy, Outreach and Publication activities in many roles and capacities. A Principal Designer at NID, currently he chairs the Education Programmes. While he is a member of the Governing Council and the Policy & Planning Committee, he also serves on the advisory board of the National Design Business Incubator. He is the founder of the International Center for Indian Crafts (ICIC) at NID.

Vijai has led initiatives of setting up design programmes and institution building. He steered several initiatives of academic reforms, curriculum development, programme reviews besides setting up a System of Educational Excellence in Design (SEED). He has worked on several international projects and exchange collaborations. He teaches Textile Design, Crafts Documentation, Design Process, System Design, and Design Projects.
