Industry Deliberate on " Designed and Branded in India"
In an effort to lead and push the evolving design industry of india, the design and innovation academy organized a seminar Designed and Branded in India on 16th April 2008 at India Habitat Center New Delhi. The seminar was aimed at understanding, appreciating and assimilating the evolving phase of tge design industry, while taking stock of the mushrooming growth of Indian brands.
The workshop was conceived in line with the new National Design Policy approved by the Union Cabinet on February 8, 2007. The vision of the National Design policy envisages the preparation of a platform for creative design development across sectors for integrating design with traditional and technological resources. It also takes a look into the presentation of Indians design and innovations on the international arena along with the global positioning and branding of Indian designs & making Design in India a word for quality and utility in conjunction with Made in India andServed from India. Thus, creating original Indian designs in product in service drawing upon India's rich craft traditions and cultural heritage.
The keynote speakers at the event were Mr. Jonathan Sands & Ms. Laila Tyabji, Mr. Jonathan Sands, is the CEO of Elmwood, a major branding company from the UK.
DIA'S PRESENCE AT INSIDE OUTSIDE FAIR
IMS-Design & Innovation Academy Interior Design Department participated in Inside & Outside Megha show, which held in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. INSIDE OUTSIDE MEGHA SHOW, the flagship production of Business India Exhibition is the largest event of Interior Design.
In this exhibition the students of Interior Design not only displayed their work but designed their stall as well. This show gave a tremendous amount of exposure to the students while they interacted with famous Architect & Interior Designers from all India. Their work was highly appreciated by the esteemed guests who were invited for the show and also by leading architect and interior designers. They also had an opportunity to share the platform with prominent companies like Ice Cube, Modular Kitchens, Asian Paints, Kajaria Ceracims, Euro tiles etc.
Live Project at MMTC Fair
The jewellery Design students at DIA did a window display & thematic stall visualization for the MMTC fair at Ashok hotel in October 2007.
DIA students also took customer feed back Complied & Surveyed the feedback and based on the feedback design project for the project 2008 Fair. The students were paid a stipend.
Visit to major Jewellery Shows of Asia DIA annually visits the major jewellery shows like IIJS, JJS, JCK, Bridal Asia to name a few.
IIJS 2009 Mumbai: India International Jewellery Show is one of the leading Asian Jewellery exhibitions held annually in India. It is hosted by Gems & Jewellery Export Council and is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, India.
JJS 2009, Jaipur: Jaipur Jewellery Show is one of the largest Jewellery Exhibition in North India. JJS is a B2B as well as B2C Jewellery fair.
