FASHION BRAND MANAGEMENT

Duration: 3 years full time (2 years at DIA + Final year at UCLan)
The programme is designed to teach the foundation level comprising of four semester at IMS-DIA, Noida and final year ay the University of Central Lancashire, UK for a BA (Hons.) Award.

Fashion companies are facing a growing challenge to attract and retain new customers in the face of the competition from new products and markets. This course is intended for people interested in learning the basics of brand management and how it is applied within the fashion industry. Fashion Brand Management deals with all aspects of the promotion and Brand industry and is studied with complementary modules which include projects in –Photography, Journalism, Marketing, Retail Management and online and digital marketing. Areas covered include Visual Presentation, Journalism, Trend Prediction, Advertising, Graphic Layout, Market Research, Photography and Multi Media Computer work. Students will be exposed to speakers from within the Promotion industries, such as Scholl, Durex, Next, Champion, Umbro, Calvein Clien, Apple, Addidas, Puma.

Stage One (Year 1)
Introduction to Fashion Brand Management and Development of Promotional Campaigns are compulsory modules which all students take at level-1. In order to proceed to Stage Two it is necessary to have completed and passed the Level-2 modules.

Stage Two (Years 2 and 3)

East meets West
IMS-Design and Innovation Academy, in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire, UK organized a fashion show called “East meets West” to celebrate the collaboration.
The event took place at Celebration, Great India Place, Noida on the eve of 7th November,2009. The show started with the welcome speech of the Managing Director, DIA and the organizer of the show Ms. Shilpi Gupta in the presence of Maharaja of Charkhari, Mr. S. K. Chatturvedi (CMD, Power Grid Corp Ltd.), Ms. Angela Murphy (Deputy Vice Chancellor UCLAN, UK), Mr. Terry Mansfield (CEO, Cosmopolitan) and the other delegates from UCLAN, UK including the senior faculty members and students.

“East meets west” was a show which depicted the unique collaboration of Eastern and Western cultures. The models walked the ramp in this fashion show wearing the collection of the students from DIA and UCLan. With interesting blend of tradition and modernity, the show focused on the ‘Bridal Wears’ and the ‘Bridal Jewellery’ wherein the East that is Design and Innovation Academy, Noida has shown their Western Bridal Collection and West that is University of Central Lancashire, UK had shown their Eastern Wedding Collection. Many famous models and the designers from the Industry have registered their presence in the show, Krishna Somani, Tina Chatwal, Anchal Sengupta were to name a few.Everyone has appreciated the designs and collection of the students.

This fashion show highlighted several innovations from the students of DIA and UCLAN. The audiences appreciated the design and collection of the students. The collection displayed during the show was lauded by all the dignitaries and industry experts present at the event.
